INGAL Plus has been developed to deliver the highest level of protection against corrosion for steel. The INGAL Plus process applies an extra-heavy galvanized coating to steel fabrications that will significantly increase the service life of a hot dip galvanized coating in tough environments. INGAL Plus has all the features of INGAL with the addition of a significantly thicker hot dip galvanized coating that exceeds Australian Standard specifications. AS/NZS 4680:1999 Hot dipped galvanized coatings on fabricated ferrous articles is the standard that defines minimum coating mass (thickness) for galvanized coatings on steel sections. INGAL Plus can be supplied to specifications that exceed those listed in AS/NZS 4680:1999 by 100% for hot rolled sections and 50% for cold formed and hollow sections. In practice, INGAL Plus coatings may exceed the additional thicknesses specified, dependent on steel section, steel chemistry and surface condition. With INGAL Plus, galvanized coating life can be significantly extended at a small premium cost over AS/NZS 4680 compliant galvanized coatings. |
